Filipino-inspired Interior Design. Photo: PGA |
Do you want to be relaxed yet, still getting that dose of Filipino-inspired atmosphere even when at home? Maybe it's time
to move the chairs aside and do some interior designing to get that feel. Asian Designs are continuously becoming the
source of inspiration of people for their home. I guess it's the connection that
one makes to history and culture.
Here are some tips to get that
Asian vibe:
Handicrafts

Use native or ethnic-inspired
handicrafts. Philippine Interior Designs
have interesting pieces to accent areas in the house. The Bicol region is
famous for Abaca and Sinamay products. You will definitely love baskets made of sea grass which are transformed to kitchen ware to house cutlery and utensils.
Place mats made from Abaca cater to minimalists and sophisticates alike.
Ethnic Figurines

Luzon's far north boasts of hand
carved statues made by the Ifugao tribe. Known as "bulols" or "Ifugao
rice gods," these one-of-a-kind statues are great to be placed at the corners
of your lanay or terrace. Feel that Asian facade by adding
touches of terracotta clay pots, native baskets and miniature plants for a touch of
nature in the scene.
Elegant Furniture

The cream of Philippine-made
furniture uses Narra, Kamagong and Ipil wood to name a few. Contemporary wood work does not
concentrate on using one wood type alone. Although purist ought to do so,
combining different wood types spur creative and quality results.
Angono wood craft makers combine
Kamagong and Narra to produce hues of brown in dining tables.

There are also modern furnitures showcasing the best of Philippine Interior Design. The famous egg-shell sofa suspends the
abaca-crafted chair using a strong metal stand. At a glance, you might think
that it cannot hold the weight of an occupant. But, the design did
not compromise the utility when I tried it myself. The design is chic and modern. Its simply a must have.
Lights and Lamps

Lamps are great accent pieces. Philippine interior design highlights
modern lamps which uses Nito and Bamboo shrouded with katcha cloth to act as a light diffuser. They come in different sizes considering the space
allotment of clients. Small lamps are designed for condo units particularly for young professionals
while large prototypes are for big houses. Twig-like pieces are intertwined to
produce conservatively linear designs exhibiting a formal look. Abstract patterns are ideal for those with artistic tendencies.
Philippine Interior Design has a lot to offer. Choose the look that reflects your personality. It doesn't matter whether you opt to have a
traditional Filipiniana design or a futuristic modern touch of elegance. The
important thing is to infuse your identity in your home to create that
vibrant and relax atmosphere.
This article gives me an idea not to be contented with only one option when it comes to choosing a house... Recently, I've been to different places just to look for a house that is suitable for my family. I even tried some portals online that also offer great deals... but Im not so sure with that one. However, my ever-concerned friend suggested that I should buy this house located in Cavite, I did visit the place, but the house's interior wasn't great compared to what I have found online, https://www.propertyasia.ph/property/28794/3-bedroom-house-and-lot-for-sale-in-para%C3%B1aque-city...
